Selection process by the consumer
Especially seven criteria are relevant when rating the products: Convenience/Functionality, Product benefit, Innovation, Design, Material properties, Ergonomics and Sustainability. These are also the criteria that make new products attractive – and this attractiveness can best be judged by consumers themselves.
The selection procedure is a two-stage process: First, a jury of 14 experts preselects from the following sectors: Design, Electronics, Gastronomy, Architecture and Energy. Then, in the second stage, it is entirely up to the consumer: The independent market research institution K&A BrandResearch conducts a representative survey amongst consumers about the preselected products. This award from the Initiative LifeCare gives consumers a simple yet objective guidance which has been established worldwide as an important and well-received advice for purchase.
